ABOUT US

Our Process

PLAN

EXECUTE

DELIVER

We begin our relationship with an initial visit to your home or project site with your architect if you have one. Meeting at your home or project site will also allow us to better understand the composition of the existing space.

INITIAL SITE VISIT

We can usually generate a preliminary estimate from architect or designer sketches. The more developed the plans are, the more detailed our estimate can be. Your preferences as well as input from the architect will also be factored into the estimate.

PRELIMINARY
ESTIMATE

This agreement allows us to delve into the project details, while providing you with the ability to opt out while only making a small investment. Our Sales & Operations team will be readily available to answer questions about the preliminary estimate and/or next steps in our process.

PRE-CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT

We meet with our subcontractors (excavators, plumbers, electricians, roofers, etc.) at your property to review your project goals and requirements.

SUBCONTRACTOR SITE VISITS

This document represents the scope of work to be completed and the associated costs based on your defined requirements, the architectural plans, the subcontractors, and the Schiefer Woodworking team estimates. Costs will be broken down for clarity and transparency.

PROJECT
PROPOSAL

After the project proposal has been accepted, we sign a contract & move forward with obtaining permits and the scheduling process. We work with you in one of two ways: Time & Materials or Fixed Price basis. We can work with you to help make the best choice for your specific project.

CONTRACT
EXECUTION

A project team, consisting of a highly experienced Project Manager and a Lead Carpenter, will be assigned to your project.  There will be many other people involved with your project, but the project team will be your or your architect’s primary resource during project execution.

PROJECT
TEAM

As we approach the start of your project, we work to get the appropriate permits in place and schedules refined. As we move through this process, we will meet with you and your architect to review the final plans and specifications. A project schedule will be shared with you at this time.

PROJECT
PREPARATION

Clients with Time & Materials projects will be sent an invoice every week. Clients with Fixed Price projects will be sent an invoice at specific project milestones determined in the contract phase.

INVOICING

When your project is complete, our Project Manager will go through our work with you and list any outstanding items. Schiefer Woodworking will take approximately 30 days to finish this list to ensure everything is done to your satisfaction before the final cleaning.

COMPLETION

Schiefer Woodworking offers a one-year warranty on labor and materials & copies of all manufacturers' warranties for building and mechanical components. During this time, our Sales & Operations team will be your main point of contact - available to answer questions and provide support.

WARRANTY

We encourage you to meet with the project team every week or every other week to talk about project accomplishments and upcoming schedule, review any changes, and product selections. Our project team is there to help and answer any questions you may have during these meetings or at any point.

CONSTRUCTION

Keeping the project on schedule is a top priority for our team.  If you want something different from the original plans, your project manager will create change order documentation to ensure that our team has fully captured your request.
